Back to School Essentials with Young Living

One of the best things you can do before the start of the new school year is to invest in the Young Living Premium Starter Kit.  I wish my family had essential oils when my kids were babies, but I am SO glad that we have them when they begin school.  Besides the typical back to school essentials, don’t forget your Young Living Essential Oils!

Why the Premium Starter Kit?

The Premium Starter Kit includes 11 essential oils.  10 of these oils are considered “Everyday Oils” because of their versatility for daily use.  They are some of the most popular and best-selling oils.  They are the oils my family uses everyday.  Check out my order oils page for more information on the Premium Starter Kit.

*Always read your bottle labels, check out Young Living’s Web site for more information or contact member services for specific instructions.  If you are pregnant, nursing or under a Doctor’s care, speak with a Doctor first.  For children, make sure they are of appropriate age and are supervised by an adult when using these products.  Always remember for children – DILUTE, DILUTE, DILUTE.

DIY Lavender Linen Spray

One reason I love Young Living Essential Oils so much:  They are so versatile!  Once you start getting comfortable with oils, you will want to use them for EVERYTHING!  It feels great to get rid of my store bought products and make my own.  It can be really fun too!  The best part though is with DIY products – you KNOW what is going in them!  I know with Young Living’s “Seed to Seal” process, I am using 100% pure therapeutic-grade essential oils.  I trust using them on myself and my whole family.

Check out my DIY Lavender Linen Spray –

DIY Lavender spray

First, I add 15-20 drops of Lavender essential oil to a 4 oz. glass bottle purchased from Abundant Health.  For this particular spray, you do not need a glass bottle, because Lavender is not a citrus oil.  Citrus oils are known to breakdown plastics.  I prefer to use glass for most of my DIY items, but that is completely up to you.

This recipe can be tweaked to “make it your own.”  It is important to add a pinch of Epsom Salt, because it helps to disperse the oil into the water.  Since oil repels water, if you don’t add the Epsom Salt, it will just stay clumped together in one place.

After the Lavender essential oil and Epsom Salt, just fill the rest with distilled or purified water, shake well and spray!   It really is as simple as that!  I spray the mixture over my sheets and pillow right before bedtime.

Why Lavender?

Lavender essential oil will freshen your linens, promote relaxation and restful sleep!  Lavender is a very gentle oil and can be used on the whole family.

Since Lavender is so versatile, it is included in the Everyday Oils Collection of the Premium Starter Kit.  It is an important one to have on hand at all times!  Its uses are endless.  Click on Premium Starter Kit to learn more.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at any time.  I would love to hear from you and have you join me on this oil journey!

Thank you,

Amy

Essential Oil Diffuser Necklace

I am very grateful for being introduced to essential oil jewelry!  Once I saw these amazing pendant diffuser necklaces I knew I had to have one.  Not only are they completely functional, but stylish too!  Who wouldn’t love their own personal diffuser on them wherever they go?!

image

I ordered my necklace from Sacred Arrow Therapeutic Jewelry and Gifts. I came across their website on Facebook and started following them on Instagram as well.  I wanted to choose a necklace I could wear everyday, so I thought this one was perfect!  It was simpler than most, but still very beautiful and unique.  The one I purchased is their Signature Pendant Diffuser Necklace, which is stainless steel, tarnish-resistant, hypoallergenic and engraved with their name, “Sacred Arrow.”  The hypoallergenic had me sold, because I tend to have sensitive skin.

Each necklace comes with 3 high quality and non-toxic leather disks where you add your oil.  Some necklaces I’ve seen come with felt, cotton or cork.  I personally love the leather, because it is a more durable material that will last.  I also love the fact that the leather will not destroy any benefits of the essential oil (which is extremely important) and the oil cannot harm the leather either.

image

All you have to do is add 1-3 drops of an essential oil to the leather disk and then place it inside the pendant.  Let me just say, the aroma lasts way longer than I expected!  Depending on the oil, I do not have to add more for another week!  Believe it or not, I have been wearing this necklace every single day since I got it!  I love it that much!

So far, I have really enjoyed using Joy and Frankincense in my diffuser necklace.  To see how else I use Joy, check out my blog post, “My Morning Routine with Essential Oils.”

I tend to have occasional everyday stress and these oils have really helped me combat it.  Frankincense is actually a new favorite for stress.  I also really love the sweet and warm scent.

I am looking forward to trying Citronella essential oil in my necklace this summer!  Citronella, as many people know, is a wonderful insect deterrent.  I LOVE summer nights and I don’t want the mosquitos getting in the way of enjoying the outdoors.  I will keep you posted whether or not this is effective!

If you are interested in a diffuser necklace, I highly recommend checking out Sacred Arrow.  They have a great mission too that you can read about more in depth on their website.  Not only do they create stunning jewelry, but they bless people fighting cancer with Sacred Frankincense essential oil by using a portion of their profits to purchase it for those in need.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Feel free to contact me at any time.  If you are interested in essential oils and want more information, just send me your email address and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  I would love for you to join me on this oil journey!

Thank you!

Amy
